Whether your teen is chasing a starting spot or just getting off the couch for the first time — Coach Michael meets them exactly where they are. Custom programs, expert guidance, and real results for every kind of teen.

Not sure where to start? Coach Michael put together a plain-English guide covering everything parents need to know before their teen picks up a weight.
When I started coaching, I kept seeing the same thing: talented, motivated young people walking into weight rooms with zero real guidance. School coaches doing their best, YouTube videos filling the gap, parents hoping for the best. And kids getting hurt, burning out, or never reaching what they were truly capable of.
That bothered me. It still does.
I've spent over 30 years and 35,000+ hours learning what actually works for developing young athletes — not just physically, but mentally. Strength training done right doesn't just build muscle. It builds discipline, confidence, and resilience that carries into every part of a teen's life.
I've trained over 1,000 people, ages 9 to 95 — from kids who had never touched a weight to athletes who went on to set 16 New York State and 5 National Powerlifting Records. I've watched shy, uncertain teens walk out of training sessions standing taller. That never gets old.
I don't run a factory. I don't do cookie-cutter programs. Every athlete I work with gets a plan built specifically for them — their sport, their goals, their starting point. Whether your teen is a competitive athlete chasing a scholarship or a kid who just wants to feel stronger and more confident, they belong here.
"I coach because I love it. This isn't a business to me — it's a calling."
— Coach Michael Wohltmann
My methods are grounded in the highest-level certifications in the industry, and sharpened by mentorship under Charles Poliquin, one of the most respected strength coaches who ever lived. But what I'm most proud of isn't the records or the credentials — it's the teens I've watched grow into healthy, capable, confident adults.

Over 1,000 clients. Dozens of records. And the thing Coach Michael is most proud of — teens who grew into confident, capable people.
“We were looking for a strength coach to help my daughter excel in pole vaulting and address some lingering aches and pains. Coach Michael built a program specifically around her sport and her body. The results have been remarkable — she's stronger, more confident, and the nagging issues are gone.”
“Michael is currently helping my son achieve his fitness goals. My son is a catcher and Michael makes sure to target the right muscle groups for his position. He's incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely cares about results.”
“Last year my son recommended I reach out to his trainer after I was injured on the job. I suffer from chronic pain and Michael built a program around my limitations. I'm stronger than I've been in years. Truly exceptional coaching.”
“Michael creates specific plans for your needs and wants. He is very personable but is able to balance a rigorous program with real encouragement. My son has made tremendous progress in a short time.”
“Michael really cares about his clients. He takes his time to program a workout to fit my son's needs. When my son got injured, Michael adjusted the program immediately. That level of attention is rare.”
“Michael has been working with our family for a couple years now. His ability to work with two teenage kids and an adult at completely different levels is impressive. Everyone progresses. Everyone stays motivated.”
“Michael is amazing! My 15-year-old son has been doing strength training sessions with him all summer, and he has really blossomed — not just physically but in confidence too. Couldn't recommend him more highly.”
“I had a pretty bad back injury. After a long time in physical therapy it still wasn't much better. Coach Michael built a program around my recovery and I've made more progress in 3 months than in the previous year of PT.”
“Michael has trained two of my teens — first my son who wrestles, and now my daughter. He understands how to train for sport specifically, not just general fitness. Both kids are noticeably stronger and more athletic.”
“My daughter has worked with Michael since 2019 (volleyball). His workouts are specific to the athlete's sport and season. Four years in and she keeps improving. There's no one else I'd trust with her training.”
“One of the most well versed trainers I've ever met. He did an amazing job with my son. He's an encyclopedia of knowledge.”
ATP is professional-level coaching — the same caliber you'd expect from a Division I program, delivered directly to your teen. Here's how to think about the investment.
Honest answer on cost: ATP sits between a budget fitness app and full-time in-person training — closer to the latter in quality, significantly more accessible in price. Programs are available month-to-month or at a lower rate on a 3-month commitment — the timeframe where athletes consistently see the biggest breakthroughs. After completing 3 months, athletes continue at a preferred loyalty rate. The best way to get a specific number is a quick, no-pressure conversation with Coach Michael.
ATP isn't for everyone — and that's intentional. Coach Michael works with a limited number of clients at a time to make sure every teen gets real, focused attention. That means being selective about who joins.
